Let me introduce Miss Mckenzie from Forest High School. Look at those eyes, they just draw you in. After spending time with Mckenzie, I found she is one of the sweetest young ladies I have met. For Mckenzie’s senior session, she explained she wanted to very much stay true to herself, a few things she wanted to bring along her guitar and cowboy boots. If you follow this girl on Instagram you will see her passion for music and that she is at a concert every chance she gets, particularly country music concerts. After high school, she would like to pursue a career in the music industry and well if that doesn’t work out then her backup is medicine or marine biology.
As we planned Mckenzie’s session, we chose mostly country locations to accent her style and personality. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get a song out of her with the guitar due to a sprained finger but we still had fun with the guitar. We did make one quick stop downtown Palatka to add a little urban to Mckenzie’s glam look as we headed towards the beach. Our final destination for this session was the beach, Mackenzie choose to borrow on of my Parachute gowns and the results are breathtaking.
When asked about how Mckenzie about an obstacle she has overcome, this is what she had to say, “I would say mine would be, not caring what other people think about me or worrying me if they are judging me as I am walking down the hall. I have learned that it is okay to not fit in with the popular crowds and to not have to hang out with the cool kids. To embrace who you are as a person as embrace who you hang out with and love the friends you have. That it does not matter if you have designers clothes or the coolest books or whatever. It is about you being you, that is what makes you different from everyone else, your likes and differences and your style and personality justify you from everyone else and that is okay. It is okay to be different. Be you. Be beautiful. And embrace you.” Well said Mckenzie, meeting you and capturing you was an absolute pleasure, I’ll be keeping my eye out for you in the country music world!
