I love every bit of this clean, polished senior session, but I really loved what Sam brought for his outfits. He is a great example of what to wear for guys. It can be much trickier for my male seniors to choose the right outfits, or a variety of outfits, but Sam nailed it. Here’s a few of my tips for my senior guys!
-Bring some casual and some dressy outfits, with one that’s “mom-approved”! You may not be into a tie and slacks ensemble, but please bring one dressier outfit. Your parents will thank you, and will love a more polished look, and you may feel more dapper than you realize! You can also use the photos later on for your LinkedIn profile, college applications or scholarships, and for job interviews. A more casual outfit can be a great way to show off more personality, and be more comfortable.
-Solid colors or subtle prints are most flattering: Sam opted for dark navy shirt, a grass-green tee, and a classic red tee, which all worked really well. They kept the attention on his face and expressions, rather than drawing the eye to busy prints. He did choose one subtle print (a blue toned, thin-lined plaid), and brought it together with a navy, solid color tie.
-Iron and steam! Wrinkles show more than you may realize in senior photos. If you’re a guy, please make sure your mom or a dry-cleaning service can iron or steam your outfits, from your slacks to your ties, and hang them on hangers to transport them to your session location. Also, check your shoes for large scuff marks and polish them if they need it. These are super simple ways to make sure nothing detracts from YOUR moment!
