I am coming off the weekend feeling soooo incredibly exhausted and excited! My mind is overflowing with the possibilities for my business. About a year and a half ago, I was introduced to the concept of senior videography, and was captivated by the idea. As a mom, I loved the idea of being able to add video to my senior sessions. I always thought it would add a new depth and magic to such a monumental moment. But, there were a few pieces missing…namely, knowledge about shooting video, and the skills to edit video (just a few obstacles!). Now my questions have been answered! I attended the Senior Films workshop with Anne Moshier. Anne has been a senior photographer for eight years and has begun incorporating videography into her business, shooting her seniors, promo videos for other photographers, and wedding videography. When I first heard about Anne’s workshop, I knew this was a must-do to add to my client senior experience. Not only has this weekend has been full of an abundant amount of information about seniors films, but it was full of Miss Anne’s southern hospitality, food, laughter, new and old friends, and bonus… we were blessed with some gorgeous Florida weather.
It was such an amazing workshop. On Friday night, as everyone arrived from their travel, we enjoyed a home-cooked dinner and jumped right in. Anne really wanted to get us familiar with our equipment before our scheduled shoot on Saturday. As it turned out, this was a massive time-saver! We had three gorgeous models for us to work with, and we each split off into smaller groups. Anne was wonderful to make sure each group got plenty of direction, as well as instructions for individual students. Then, we go to watch Anne edit a video, which answered a ton of questions.
Sunday was another AMAZING day here in Florida for the surprise Anne had for all of us….. a parachute dress. This was absolutely stunning to photograph and film. We had another full day shooting with Kayla, our model in the parachute dress. Sunday we ( 12 attendees) all shot one girl. It surprisingly wasn’t chaotic, and Anne made sure no matter what lens we had, we got the shot without others being in the way. After another fun filled day, we sat down to another home-cooked meal before sitting down to work more on editing. Now let me explain a little something…Anne is my very dear friend. She has been telling me that I will LOVE adding senior films to my workflow. Blah Blah Blah…..Do I want one more thing to do…Really? She was right. I am so glad I made the decision to attend her workshop because it completely CLICKED this weekend. I see it Anne, I see how incorporating this into my business will only add to my client experience. I am beyond excited to share my very first video of Mathison.
Thank you, sweet Anne, for this opportunity and for believing in me. xoxoxo
