Luke | Keystone Heights High School | Gainesville Senior Portraits

Every year I vow to get better with blogging and it seems as though every year I am playing catch up at the end of my senior season or at the beginning of the next. Well, either way, I want to make sure all my seniors get their space on my blog.

First up is 2017 graduate Luke from Keystone Heights High School. Luke was the only guy on my spokesmodel team last year surrounded by all those girls–a pretty terrible place to be right?  As a part of my spokesmodel team, Luke was photographed at the end of his junior year and throughout his senior year. I always love seeing how each of my seniors grow throughout the year.

For Luke’s senior session we decided to head into Gainesville, FL. Gainesville provides not only downtown urban options, but also amazing locations like Kanapaha Botanical Gardens and The Thomas Center. We decided to head downtown for the day with Luke and luckily we had many covered options because, of course, we live in Florida and had to dodge some rain.

I always love when my seniors have a passion they want to include in their portraits. Luke, well he had several things he wanted to include throughout his year. We of course wanted to make sure we showcased his truck. I will never forget Luke asking if I can wash his truck in photoshop…. Boys… Definitely a question I had never been asked before. He also wanted to include his kayak. In his spare time, Luke can be found with his friends and family out enjoying the water. The kayak was something new for me; I loved getting the chance to photograph that.

Luke’s senior year wouldn’t have been complete without capturing him on the soccer field. Luke has been playing soccer since he was 4 years old. During the fall of his junior year, Luke was involved in an ATV accident and had a back injury, he wasn’t sure if he would play soccer his senior year. Praise God, Luke spent many hours in physical therapy and recovered in time to not only get out on the soccer field with his teammates, but also run cross country his senior year.

I am so thankful I had the opportunity to capture Luke’s portraits during his senior year. I love what I do, I love having the opportunity to build relationships with my seniors and their families. I do not just take portraits, I have created an experience that captures precious moments. Don’t let these moments pass by without being captured.
